You how somehow wine doesn't taste good when you drink it from a plastic go-cup? In fact, not much tastes good when drinking from plastic. Except if you are a frat boy, but that's a blog for another day. All drinks - from wine to lemonade - just seem better, and more special, when you drink them from a really nice glass. In fact, the nicer the glass, the more giddy I am. OK OK, I admit. I have developed an obsession of sorts. In fact, while on shopping expeditions for PHP, I have accumulated a collection of glasses that simply make me happy. I use them for different occasions. Occasions in my head, not company or entertaining. For example, on a snowy night, a glass of scotch in a moser crystal glass makes the evening complete. On a summer day, I love lemonade from a tall hand-painted glass with flowers on it. After a trying day at work, a glass of wine in an antique etched glass or a cocktail in a mid century modern gold and black high ball glass reminiscent of Don Draper is enough to put me in a good mood. Having nice things - and using them - gives me an emotional lift. And having nice things don't need to be expensive. I have found incredible deals on antique glassware. Comparable to Crate and Barrel prices, but with much more character. Its a tiny obsession. But it makes me smile. Check out just some of our special glassware by clicking on any of the photos below for more information...

As we begin March, it’s almost like I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Recent record warmth had us all dreaming of spring and I have become almost giddy with anticipation of spring. Yet, as you know, we woke to snow, which drags us back to winter.
Nothing makes me happier on cold winter nights than a cozy fire, a good book, a soft blanket and a cup of tea. This ambiance is a way to restore my soul and push the madness of life away for a few precious moments. Even without the fire, a simple cuppa and a candle will do. My vibe can be complete with a pretty tea cup, my personal little tea tray and a candle to enjoy my moment.
